Our client is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager for their Mechanical Engineering Services market. Based in Germany with European wide travel.
Beschreibung:
We are looking for an experienced professional with a background in either the automotive, aerospace or machinery industries
The preferred industry sub-segments are: Packaging & Processing Machinery, Machine Tool, Material Handling Equipment, Construction Machinery, Mining Machinery, other Industrial & Special Purpose Machinery (Air filtration equipment, for instance).
Experience of selling mechanical Engineering Services in mainland Europe, Scandinavia, and / or the UK is essential. Additionally, we will prefer candidates with experience of working with teams in India.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategies to identify & develop new large customers (multi-million dollar engagements) in the Mechanical Engineering sector.
- Understand deeply customer product development cycles & subsequently achieve outsourcing of a breadth of activities (Engineering Design, Engineering Analysis, Manufacturing support services, among others) in this cycle.
- Transfer technical knowledge, best practices and product specific design methodologies.
- Build an effective customer relationship & communication system.
Required Skills / Experience:
- At least 8-12 years experience in the mechanical engineering industry with automotive, aerospace, or machinery industry experience
- Strength in selling Mechanical Engineering Solutions & Services (CAD/Design, CAE/Simulation, CAM/Manufacturing Support)
- Reasonable experience working with teams in India (engaged in Mechanical Engineering Solutions and Services)
- 3-4 years of experience in selling mechanical Engineering Services (ES) in mainland Europe, Scandinavia, and/or the UK.
Functional & Technical Competencies:
- Ability to collect & effectively use information on industry, customers, competitors, new technologies and trends.
- Ability to develop relationship / rapport at different levels of the customer and effectively position the customer.
- Ability to prepare WIN-WIN proposals involving a range of service offerings.
- Ability to deal with and handle sensitive information with care, confidence, and judgment
- Ability to sense conflicts (between teams, on site staff, and managers) and resolve them
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in any of, Mechanical, Production, Automotive, Aerospace Engineering (or related / equivalent)
- MBA in Marketing would be an advantage, and could be seen as more important then the above technical qualification
Key Performance Indicators:
- Revenue growth from existing customers
- Revenue generation from new & larger customers
- Revenue generation from new services and technologies
Languages: Fluency in both English & German is essential, without these language skills your application will not be considered.
